Netflix Renewals 2025: From Squid Game Season 3 to Bloodhounds Season 2- Korean Shows Returning With New Seasons

Korean shows are loved by audiences worldwide. Known for unique storytelling, strong emotions, and top-notch production, they continue to gain popularity globally. Netflix has played a significant role in spreading this K-wave globally. While many first and second seasons are already streaming and gaining attention, several shows have been renewed for new seasons. Some are still in production, while others are gearing up for their upcoming premieres. Take a look at all the K-shows that are making a comeback!

Squid Game Season 3

Squid Game became a global hit and ranked as the most-watched non-English language series of all time when it was released. After its huge success, season 2 followed, and now the third and final season is set to premiere on June 27. According to reports, Season 3 will pick up where Season 2 left off- Gi-hun feels guilty about his friend’s death and decides to end the deadly game. New players join in, tension grows, and betrayals unfold, leading to a final, intense showdown between Gi-hun and the Front Man.

Season 3 stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Im (Yim) Si-wan (as Myung-gi), and Park Gyu-young in the lead roles.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2

Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, All of Us Are Dead is a zombie survival story in live-action. Season 1 was a huge hit and topped Netflix’s global charts. It currently ranks as the third most-watched Korean Netflix series, after Squid Game seasons 1 and 2.

Ji-hu Park, Chan-young Yoon, Lomon, Yi-hyun Cho, Yoo-mi Lee, and In-soo Yoo played the lead roles in the first season. Its success led to the renewal of the second season. The original main cast will return, along with some new additions- Min-jae Lee, Si-eun Kim, Ji-hoon Seo, Ga-yi Yoon, and Jae-won Roh, according to a News1 report.

For the uninitiated, it follows a group of high school students stuck in their school during a zombie outbreak. The story is about how they struggle to survive, facing danger from both the infected and their circumstances.

Note: “Filming is slated to begin in 2025, so Netflix insiders now expect the season no earlier than late 2026.”

Bloodhounds Season 2

Adapted from Jeong Chan’s webtoon, Bloodhounds burst into Netflix’s global Top 10 in 83 countries after its June 2023 debut. Netflix Season 2 brings back the crowd-pleasing boxing partners Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi) as they infiltrate an international underground league run by ruthless promoter Baek-jeong, played by Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) in his first major villain role. Netflix has also confirmed a special cameo by Park Seo-joon, reuniting him with director Kim Joo-hwan and Woo Do-hwan for the first time since Midnight Runners. Season 1 supporting players Kim Sae-ron (whose screen time was already cut back after her 2022 DUI) and Choi Si-won are not attached to the new cast line-up.

Culinary Class Wars Season 2

Culinary Class Wars was Netflix’s first Korean unscripted show that topped the global Non-English Series list for three straight weeks. The series sparked a worldwide craze for Korean cooking survival competitions, solidifying its status as an international hit. Season 2 is all set to return with fresh challenges and intense cooking battles, with Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji returning as producers. According to reports, Season 2 is expected to release in the second half of 2025.

Physical: 100 Season 3

Physical: 100 is a South Korean survival reality series where 100 participants take on intense challenges in a tournament-style competition. It was compared to Squid Game because of its elimination format, intense challenges, elaborate sets, and Korean origin. Season 2, titled Physical 100: Underground, continued its popularity, reaching the Top 10 in 87 countries. The show will return with its third season, which will have a diverse mix of participants and is expected to premiere in late 2025.
