Roh Yoon-seo Won’t Join ‘All of Us Are Dead’ Season 2—Here’s What’s Actually Confirmed

K-drama fans who were hoping to see All of Us Are Dead introduce Roh Yoon-seo in its second season are in for some disappointment. Despite months of speculation, the breakout star of Crash Course in Romance and Our Blooming Youth will not be part of the cast for the zombie thriller’s next chapter.

How the rumours started

In early 2024, Korean entertainment circles began buzzing with talk that Roh Yoon-seo might join All of Us Are Dead Season 2 in a new lead role. The rumour gained traction on January 31, 2024, when multiple outlets cited industry insiders claiming she had been approached. At the time, her agency, MAA, issued a cautious response: “Nothing has been decided yet.” That statement left the door open for possibilities but stopped short of confirmation, signalling that casting was still in flux.

The official “no”

On May 14, 2025, Korean news outlet OSEN reported that Roh Yoon-seo would not appear in Season 2 after all. The reason, according to the report, was straightforward—scheduling conflicts prevented her from committing to the project. This update effectively closed a year-long loop of speculation, moving the story from “maybe” to a definitive “no.”

Netflix’s cast announcement confirms it

The absence of Roh Yoon-seo was reinforced when Netflix released its official Season 2 cast announcement on July 22, 2025. The streaming platform confirmed the return of the core survivors from Season 1—Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Yoon Chan-young (Lee Cheong-san), Cho Yi-hyun (Choi Nam-ra), and Lomon (Lee Su-hyeok)—alongside new additions Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, Roh Jae-won, and Yoon Ga-i. Notably, Roh Yoon-seo’s name was missing from the lineup.

This detail is important because Netflix’s production roll-outs typically include all principal cast members. If Roh were involved, the official announcement is where her name would appear.

The scheduling conflict explained

The reported clash makes sense when you look at Roh Yoon-seo’s other commitments. In December 2024, Netflix announced that she had been cast in East Palace (working title), a period-fantasy drama also starring Nam Joo-hyuk and Cho Seung-woo. Filming for East Palace began late last year and extended well into mid-2025—overlapping with the production window for All of Us Are Dead Season 2, which kicked off in July 2025. With both projects demanding significant time and focus, it would have been difficult, if not impossible, for her to participate in both.

Clearing up a common misconception

Some fan chatter and social media posts have mistakenly described this as Roh Yoon-seo “not returning” to the show. That’s inaccurate—she was never part of All of Us Are Dead Season 1. The 2025 updates refer to her not joining the series for its second season, despite earlier casting talks.

What this means for Season 2

While Roh’s absence will disappoint fans eager for fresh star power, the series appears to be sticking closely to its established core while introducing a few new characters. With the original leads returning and several fresh faces joining, Season 2 seems set to continue the high-stakes survival story without straying too far from the tone that made the first season a global hit.

For now, Roh Yoon-seo’s focus remains on East Palace. Unless her agency or Netflix makes an unexpected announcement, the Hyosan High survivors will have to face the zombie apocalypse without her.
