Conflicts of Interest & Product Endorsement Policy
Last Updated: October 2025
At Flaunt Weekly (“we,” “our,” “us”), we take pride in maintaining accurate, fair, and transparent journalism across the global entertainment industry — from Hollywood and streaming to music, celebrity culture, and fashion.
To protect our readers’ trust and uphold ethical and legal standards, we have established this Conflicts of Interest & Product Endorsement Policy.
1. Purpose of This Policy
This policy ensures that all writers, editors, and contributors at Flaunt Weekly:
-
Avoid situations where personal or financial interests could compromise editorial independence.
-
Disclose all real, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest clearly to readers.
-
Provide transparent statements for all product endorsements or reviews, whether compensated or not.
Our editorial credibility depends on transparency and reader confidence — no exceptions.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
-
Full-time and freelance writers, editors, and contributors.
-
Guest authors, columnists, and brand partners.
-
Any sponsored, paid, or affiliate-linked content published on FlauntWeekly.com.
All individuals who contribute to our platform are required to understand and follow this policy.
3. Types of Conflicts of Interest
3.1 Financial Interests
-
Owning shares or holding investments in entertainment studios, streaming services, record labels, or brands featured in our reporting.
-
Receiving money, gifts, or benefits that could influence editorial judgment or coverage.
3.2 Personal Relationships
-
Close personal or family relationships with celebrities, industry executives, or brand representatives covered by Flaunt Weekly.
-
Membership or involvement in fan clubs, PR campaigns, or influencer networks related to covered subjects.
3.3 Professional Relationships
-
Current or past employment with entertainment companies, agencies, production houses, or streaming platforms featured in our coverage.
-
Paid consulting, collaboration, or promotional work for such entities.
4. Disclosure Requirements
4.1 Paid Product Endorsements
If a contributor receives any form of compensation (money, products, services, or affiliate commissions) for recommending or reviewing a product, service, or brand, the following disclosure must appear clearly within the content:
“THIS AUTHOR RECEIVES A COMMISSION THROUGH RECOMMENDED LINKS IN THIS CONTENT.”
This includes:
-
Affiliate or referral links.
-
Sponsored articles or advertorials.
-
Paid social collaborations or brand partnerships.
4.2 Unpaid Product Endorsements
When a contributor endorses or reviews a product without any financial benefit, the following disclosure must be used:
“THIS AUTHOR DOES NOT RECEIVE A COMMISSION THROUGH RECOMMENDED LINKS IN THIS CONTENT.”
This helps readers distinguish between editorial opinions and commercial relationships.
4.3 Gifts & Complimentary Access
At times, contributors may receive press passes, review samples, or complimentary access (e.g., film screenings, product launches, red-carpet events).
Such access does not guarantee positive coverage.
When relevant, the following statement will appear:
“THE AUTHOR RECEIVED COMPLIMENTARY ACCESS FOR REVIEW PURPOSES. THIS DID NOT INFLUENCE THE CONTENT OF THIS ARTICLE.”
5. Editorial Independence
-
All editorial decisions at Flaunt Weekly are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate programs.
-
Paid partnerships do not influence opinions, reviews, or reporting tone.
-
Sponsored content is always clearly marked in accordance with FTC and global disclosure regulations.
-
No outside entity may dictate what Flaunt Weekly publishes, how it is written, or how readers interpret it.
6. Enforcement
-
Failure to disclose a conflict of interest will result in content removal, mandatory corrections, and/or suspension of contributor privileges.
-
Repeated or serious violations may lead to permanent termination of association with Flaunt Weekly.
-
The editorial board reserves the right to review, investigate, and take appropriate action on any violation of this policy.
7. Updates to This Policy
We periodically review this policy to ensure compliance with evolving media ethics, FTC standards, and international disclosure laws.
Any update will include a revised “Last Updated” date, and all contributors will be informed of changes via internal communication.
